This ham radio class will be he held at the Carroll County Fire and Rescue building at 499 Floyd Pike, Hillsville Virginia 24343.  The class is open to the public and is free.  There is also no charge for the license test given at the final session of the class.  The class will be held on , April 4th , 7th, 11th, 14th, 18th, 21th, 25th and April 28th at 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm each session.   This is a 35 question multiple-choice test with a passing score of 75% required.  No longer is passing a Morse code test required for a license.  On the test date, we willl also be testing for General, and Extra License.  The test will be at this same site.

We want to especially attract people that want to help with emergency communications.  There will be room in the class for 20 students so we will take the first 20 students that register.  Taking the class will enhance your understanding of electricity and electronic theory and radio operating principals.  There is no age limit for taking the class.  We have had children as young as 10 years old and adults as old as  as 80 to receive their ham license.
